Five Dead After New Zealand Boat Collides With Whale In New Zealand
Near the coastal area of Kaikoura in New Zealand, an 8.5 m long boat was overturned and the incident occurred on the 10th of September, Saturday when the boat was in the middle of the water. As per the police and the rescuers five people in total were reported to be dead and six were at the rescue when the people started getting anxious and reached the boat for help. The boat was identified as a charter vessel used for fishing and the people who were onboard were a part of the bird enthusiastic group. Mayor of the area Craig Mackle said in a statement that the tragic event affected the lives of many people and that they should have shut the harbour down to carry on the work.

Mayor sent his condolences to the family members of eth deceased and said that the bodies who were killed in the incident were recovered. As per the sources, the officials are working to find the identities of eth victims and there are sox survivors of eth incident who are moved to the Kaikoura health centre and one of them is transferred to the Christchurch hospital. Until now the exact circumstances under which the incident are not being recognized and Mackle said Mr Mackel said that the water was calm so there is an assumption that the whale was beneath the boat. As the whale was under the boat, it overturned and caused the accident. Mayor added that even though the water was calm and there were sperm whales, the water was always on your mind. He added that he did not hear of any situation like this earlier and it is quite shocking that the earlier incident was a bit new and saddening as well. Witnesses of the situation told that while she was on the land, she noticed that there was a man on the top of the boat and it was overturned. The man on the top waved his hand for help. Two helicopters and a local chopper were circling and two divers jumped into the water for the rescue.
