Greg played for his team Bruins for two years from 1972-1974. It was been reported by his wife that Greg was at the hospital at the time of his death and he was admitted to the hospital because of his infection. Greg was suffering from an infection and that was the reason behind his death. He suffered an immune disorder that took him away because of the infection. Greg was a player who earned three varsity letters and he also won the NCAA championships two times while h defeated two teams from UCLA which were not defeated any time before then he did along with his team. Many people shared their condolences with Greg’s family.

UCLA Men’s basketball shared about the demise of Greg and sad that the Bruins basketball team is mourning the demise of their former UCLA guard Greg Lee. They also added that he was a player who was undefeated and had back-to-back wins when NCAA Championships were held back in 1972-1973. Greg had his education from Reseda High School and before joining UCLA he used to play sports at the school where he was called Valedictorian and his father as well as the centre of the Bruins back in the 1940s. He was trained under the guardianship of coach John Wooden and he was a part of the team who scored three seasons of wins back to back.

Greg averaged 5.8 points with 1.5 rebounds and he had 88 appearances in his career. He won the championships in 1972 and 1973. Greg was also selected in the NBA and ABA drafts as well but he went for San Diego. Geg was survived by his wife Lisa, his brother Jon and his son Ethan. He also shares a daughter with his wife named Jessamyn and his son-in-law, Ryan. Greg was also a grandfather to Donovan and Opal. Many former Burins members have pleaded with the organizers to add Greg’s name to the hall of fame, while Walton and nine others were in them who signed a pen letter to induct Greg’s name in the hall of fame.
